Neon Earrings.

If you’ve seen any of the recent trends in magazines, television, or on the internet I’m sure you’ve noticed that neon colors are in this spring and summer (I’m digging the neon eyeliner and lipstick trends!).

We have in stock Colored Filed Cable Chain. It is a brass chain with a teal/aqua enamel.

I chose to keep the design simple because I didn’t want to earrings to look too overstated. As of what I’ve seen, most of the neon colors in the up-and-coming trends are bright and bold, but still simple.

Supply List:

  • 4 sections of 2inch long pieces of Colored File Cable Chain (however, ohiobeads.com sells all chain by foot).
  •  1 pair of Short French Ear-Wires in Sterling Silver (sold in a packaged of 5 pair). I love these ear wires! They fit so snug to the ear and are quite comfortable.
  • 1inch Headpins in Sterling Silver (sold in a set of 50). (Headpins aren’t necessary since you wire wrap on both side. Bulk wire also works, headpins are just what I used).
  • 2 8mm Swarovski Crystals 8mm in clear.

The earrings themselves are easy to make. All you need to do is wire-wrap the one Swarovski Crystal to 2 pieces of chain and then wire-wrap the other end of the wire to an ear-wire. Repeat for the other earring — and viola!

I think even though the chain is bold these earrings are very versatile. They can be casual or dressy. The chain is in brass, but I liked it paired with Sterling Silver findings. I had the chance to test wear these babies.  They are more sparkly than I expected.  I found the feeling of chain occasionally gliding against my neck delightful. If you ask me, I think these would be a great look for Prom and Spring Formals.
